Code words: “I went to Catholic school.” I hear these and the subtext of “well, I USED to be Catholic,” comes right to the surface. I was chatting with the bartender after our Theology on Tap meeting last night, Gena (pronounced Jenna). She was charming and we shared a few laughs. She didn’t know what to expect when her boss asked her to work the Theology on Tap meeting on four consecutive Monday nights. She was amazed that over 100 young adults would gather to hear about religion.

“Where do you go to church?” she asked. I said St. Agnes, Mary said St. Dominic. Both of us said all over too. The truth is it doesn’t really matter where you go – St. So and So or Our Lady of the Perpetually Delayed – or even a bar on a Monday night. It matters that you go – and that you want to be fed, nourished, challenged, encouraged, connected, really.

I got some great photos last night. You can see them here. Feel free to join us, if you wanna, next Monday at Harrington’s Bar and Grill. Sr. Rebecca’s gonna wow us as we discuss Images of God through music and chat.

Gena will be happy to pull a draft for you! Tell ’em Sister Christer sent you.

Oh, by the way, KRON News Channel 4 did show up. They did a fabulous story on the program and we send serious kudos to journalist Valerie St. John for being with us!
